Hood thanks the recipient for his editorial guidance. His "Tiger story" was derived from a dream. Mentions a murder which reminds him of a illustration he has seen abroad of a passage from Hamlet: "murder will speak with a most miraculous organ." Charles Lamb once said to him that the most knowing man in the world is one who had done a murder and had not been caught. Addressed to "Sir."
